WHEN I GET HOME
Music and Lyrics By: Kevin Goguen and Dan Bielenin
A new day is born
The sun still rises
The same as yesterday
I feel that something’s missing
From the songs we used to play
I can’t remember
What you used to say
It’s the first sound that I hear
When I get Home.
Tonight I search
The sky above
When all is dark and gray
A new star is shining
Throughout the Milky Way
Our battle ventures forward
Into the Unknown Day
Your star is what lights the sky
And guides me on my way
When I get Home.
Tomorrow’s gone
Today is wrong
All that’s left
Lies within the Holy Song
That waits for the day
When I get Home.
Tomorrow’s Torn
As Red Sun Rises
Knows No Yesterday
When Blood is Spilled
Upon the Six Strings
That I Used to Play
I Recall the Tears I Shed
Upon My Weary Face
It’s the First Sight That I See
In My Mind. . .
Home is a place where I can stay
Home is a place where I can lay
My head down and pray
For what was yesterday
Heaven’s Waiting…

VALLEY OF PEACE
Poem written by Greg Thomas
The fondness of a friend not long ago
Was lost and crossed over to a world that’s unknown
My only hope was that time would help ease
But my world was turned over and given a squeeze
I once walked through the Valley of Peace
Then it was the Island of Hell where I was beached
My sanctuary I couldn’t find anymore
All I wanted was to get back to where I was before
The fondness of a friend not long ago
Was lost and washed up on my island to show
That love can be moved it cannot be lost
And will always be alive through memories and thoughts
In pictures and papers the spark of the stories are held
But the heart and the soul is where the stories are felt
They may make you laugh, they may make you cry
But the acts of an angel must be kept alive.

UNTITLED POEM
Poem written by Erik Stefansson
How to live without, we know not where to start
You will forever live on in all our hearts
Our minds are bewildered and not thinking clearly
But one thing is for sure, we miss you sincerely
From shedding our tears we could not refrain
But for having known you no one can complain
You filled us with happiness whenever you came,
Still is the same when we hear your name
Though clouded by the sadness that we feel
The joy you have brought us cannot be concealed
For now we reflect on times from the past
And all of the memories that surely will last
From the highest of highs to the lowest of lows
We will always remember John Langley like Whoa!

JOHN’S SHIRT
Poem written by Jeanine Marie Alberto
I feel the worn green terrycloth
loved thin
and now often damp
with tears.
I see your big hands
shooting hoops
and you laughing
head cocked to the side,
bashfully
covering your mouth,
eyes half closed
and looking down.
I look harder
to see you there
or anywhere,
imagining your long arms
dangling
from the short green sleeves.
Holding the shirt closer
I reach to find you,
to see your airplane arms again
swooping towards me
for a hug.
I wonder
where you really are;
if you’re watching me
trying to find you.
I cling
to the green terrycloth
you’ve left behind
and dampen it once more
with tears.

An essay written by John Langley
“A Message to My Future Son”
Although you are small, your role in this world is significant. As is everybody else’s. Remember this. It is important for you to acknowledge that one single person, even you, can have a positive effect on this world.
You may see this large, humbling world with your little blue eyes and wonder how? Maybe you will be an astronaut, or maybe a doctor, maybe a cab driver; maybe you will be a trash man. Your capacity for opportunity is endless. In this way the world is beautiful. However the greatest accomplishment possible comes within you. If you are true to yourself, and make a sincere effort at making this world a better place you will attain the highest level of success conceivable. All it takes is one person to make a difference. The world is made up of millions of billions of people. Some are good, and some are bad. But never ever look past the significance of a single life. If you somehow touch one life, you will have done your part. Although one life leaves the world every moment of every day in this deceiving, corrupt world, one life enters the world with similar ease.
Hopefully the day you depart this world, this place will be brighter than it is today. It is a dark world we live in. It is the children like you that bring it light. You symbolize hope. The worst feeling possible is the absence of hope. The hope that one day we will learn from our mistakes, and learn to understand one another for what they are. If people recognized that each single life were devoted a place on this earth, perhaps this world would be a better place. Bring light to the world my son.
